Where is Milk and Honey Cake Creative based?
We are based in Varsity Lakes, on the Gold Coast (QLD, Australia).
How much are your cakes?
Most of our cakes are made to order, so the cost is dependent on both the size and design of the cake. You can find our pricing guide here, which will provide you with the base cost of our cakes without decorations. We also have a range of small celebration cakes with set pricing on our shop. For a more accurate idea of custom pricing, it is best to get in touch with us so that we can provide you with a comprehensive quote, here.
How can I request a quote?
Click here to view our quote form. Simply fill it out, hit send and we will be in touch shortly.
When should I place my order?
This is a tricky question to answer as some dates are booked out for months, whereas on other occasions I have the availability to accommodate last minute orders with a weeks’ notice. I would suggest to order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, however the general time frame is around 12 weeks in advance.
Do you create fondant cakes?
We work exclusively with the most delicious buttercream and ganache to cover our cakes.
Do you create novelty/carved cakes?
We do not, however we can create a cake with a particular theme in mind.
Do you offer delivery?
We do offer delivery for all wedding cakes, and any other speciality cakes.
Delivery incurs an extra charge depending on the distance, this cost can be factored into your quote for custom orders.
Are you a licensed business?
Yes! We run a registered business, and hold a fixed food premises license issued by the Gold Coast Council. Our ABN is 75349574891.
Do you offer wedding cake tastings?
We have cupcake tasting boxes available for order, just send us an email to arrange one. These include 12 cupcakes with your choice of 3 flavour combinations.
I have an image of the design I want. Can I send you that image and you replicate it?
At Milk and Honey Cake Creative, we value ingenuity and artistic integrity, and so we do not copy the designs of other cake makers; however, you may send us pictures of other cakes to use as inspiration in the cake we create for you.
Do you cater to dietary requirements?
Unfortunately not, however we do work closely with a fully vegan cake maker who can also provide you with gluten free options to cater to your guests with dietary requirements.
Do I have to pay up front for my cake order?
For custom orders, we do not require full payment up front, however we do require a 50% deposit which is deducted from the full price of the cake; this means that only once the deposit is paid is your booking secured. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to your event.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable (50% of the total order amount).
The remaining balance of your booking is due 14 days prior to your event.
Cancellations within 14 days of your event date render the total payment non-refundable and non-transferable.
How should I transport the cake after collection?
We make every effort to ensure our cakes are sturdily constructed, and professionally boxed for maximum security. However, when transporting your cake, care is still needed.
A cake is best transported on a flat, level surface – so a car seat is a big no-no as the cake will slide backwards; the best place for your cake will either be in a foot well or boot with a towel underneath to provide a non-slip surface. If these aren’t available options, then a passenger can carry the cake.
Will I have to refrigerate my cake when I get home?
We recommend refrigerating your cake up until 1-2 hours prior to serving – that being said though, with the exception of cheesecake filling, our cakes are shelf stable and can be left out of the fridge if need be.
We advise you to take your cake out of the fridge for 1-2 hours before serving, as cake is best eaten at room temperature, for optimal flavour and texture.
Do you have a shop that I can visit?
Unfortunately no – maybe one day! At this stage are a licensed home-based business, so that I can stay home and look after my children while making wonderful cakes.
Do you make cupcakes?
Sorry, we do not offer cupcakes.
How long will I be able to store my cake for?
If it outlasts the event (which it usually doesn’t!), your cake can stay in the fridge for up to 7 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
